3-Year Bible Reading Plan
At Redeemer Fellowship, we desire to know God in order that we might love Him, finding our joy and satisfaction in Him who is not like anyone else. God has made Himself known in Creation, through His Son, and by His Word, the Bible. Therefore, if we are to truly know God, then we must know His Word, and know it rightly. His Word tells of His Creation and His Son. Our plan is to read the entire Bible together, over the course of three years. Each week includes five readings. On Thursday evenings, when we gather as a body, one-by-one, we read a portion of Scripture from the week’s readings. Then, we ask questions, make observations and applications, and pray.
The Hebrew Bible is known as the Tanakh. Tanakh is an acronym that represents the three main divisions of the Hebrew Bible: the Torah (Ta) which basic translation is “law” or “instruction”; Nevi’im (na) meaning “prophets”; and Ketuvim (kh) which represents the “writings”. Many genres are found in Scripture, but the three main divisions are heavenly composed with a mixture of narrative (i.e. stories), law (i.e. precepts and principles), and poetry (i.e. groaning, hope, and praise of which experiences are emotively expressed).
